Is Gastric Band Hypnosis A Scam?

Gastric band hypnosis. You can lose weight using gastric band hypnosis. It makes you believe that you have a real gastric band fitted. Gastric band hypnosis has received a lot of public interest recently. People are getting great results as featured in the media. In addition to this, a number of celebrities have lost weight using this method. The idea behind the overall process is to help you alter your eating habits and behaviours over the long term. This helps you to achieve your weight loss goal and maintain it. Diets can help lose weight in the short term however most end up putting most of the weight back on.

gastric band hypnosisThe basic concept behind the process is based on the power of your imagination. It is designed to make you believe that the size of your stomach has been reduced. As a result, you feel full more quickly which in turn results in eating smaller portions. By eating smaller portions and the right types of foods then ultimately over time you will lose weight. There are various reasons why people are in favour of this method as opposed to real gastric band surgery.

First and foremost the cost of a real gastric band can be prohibitive for most people. The average price is around £8,000 in the UK if you choose to have it done privately. It is available on the NHS  however you would need to fit certain criteria. there is also a long waiting list.

In addition, there is the potential side effects or complications that may arise with a real gastric band.

A high percentage of patients around 80% may experience the following symptoms. Fatigue, nausea, and regurgitation of food. In many cases, the band may have to be removed if the symptoms persist.

More serious complications can occur such as internal bleeding, a blood clot in the leg or lungs. In addition other blockage inside the lungs (pulmonary embolism). It is estimated that 1 in 200 people risk dying  after a gastric band operation.

gastric band hypnosisA lot of people now are looking for different options to lose weight. Gastric band hypnosis does not give rise to any side effects. Nor any complications as the band is not physically fitted internally. The whole concept makes you believe through hypnosis that a band has been fitted. The band is not actually fitted it just makes you feel that way. Gastric band hypnosis is based on the fact that if you truly believe that it is installed. Your body will react accordingly as if an actual gastric band is installed.

Is Hypnosis Better Than Surgery?

Other reasons why people choose gastric band hypnosis over gastric band surgery is as folows. The post-op of the surgery can be extremely painful and uncomfortable for the majority of patients. For quite some time afterwards, you will feel a certain uncomfortable feeling in your abdomen after the surgery. The lap band (adjustable gastric band) is placed carefully around the top part of your stomach. As it is a new addition to your body it can cause some complications as described above.

Benefits of Hypnosis

gastric band hypnosisThe benefits of gastric band hypnosis over surgery are there are no risks of any complications. In addition, it is much more cost-effective. There is also no invasive surgery.  In other words, you can have all the benefits of the gastric band without the surgery.  Hypnosis uses imagination to create the same bodily responses and healing sensations that an actual gastric band will produce.

The process is usually done over a course of 4 or 5 sessions. The sessions include hypnosis, NLP, CBT and psychotherapy. The combination of these therapies and sessions are designed to address the underlying issues behind your eating habits and the cause of overeating. For example, some people use food as a comfort or they eat when they are bored, tired or stressed as opposed to just when they are hungry. Dealing with the main issues that drive the unwanted behaviour is the main key to success and this can allow real change to long term habits and behaviours.

This is very interesting. I know with a bit of hypnosis people can lose weight by eating healthier and watching what they eat. The whole gastric band thing is something that freaks me out. I understand people wanting to lose weight and all, but I wish they’d just do it with hypnosis like you guys suggest. Probably much safer too.

This is actually a pretty interesting idea to initiate. I mean, if you can get someone who’ve overweight or obese to think they can’t eat as much as they used to because a device is inside of them, than that’s great. I am a believer of hypnosis and I myself would love to give this a try.

The idea that a hypnotherapist can hypnotize someone and make them think that they have a device inside of them is absolutely interesting . In this way people can lose weight much easier and faster if they really believe in what they do . Using hypnosis people would have their life improved which is unbelievable .

Hi, You can lose as much or as little as you want. It all depends on what you consider appropriate for your height and shape in otherwords your own self image of yourself. The best thing to do is set an initial goal for yourself and then imagine how you would feel if you achieved it and you can use that as a guide as to whether it is the right amount for you

I have. And yes, it is working. Emotional eating IS dealt with, as is retraining yourself to listen to your own body’s signals, instead of ignoring them as you’ve been trained to do. It isn’t invasive, and I could eat more if I wanted to, but I don’t, because I’m not hungry. And any emotional issues I have are now dealt with as emotional issues, not emotional eating issues, because there IS no more of that. It works. For more than weight loss too.

Great topic to discuss. I really believe hypnotherapy can teach a person to believe they have something inside them, where they would end up eating less food because of it. That’s just really cool and I wish I knew of it sooner. haha! Thanks again for sharing, this is very cool information.

This is a very cool idea to hypnotize someone with. I mean, getting someone to believe they have a band installed into their body, is a pretty interesting idea, but making them actually eat less because of it must be a hard process as well. I mean, what if they just figure they can still eat the amount they used to, even though they know they still think they have a band on their stomach?

Oh wow that’s such a cool idea. My father is obese and I would love to get him to try this. I hate the idea of losing him, so I figure I should see if he’s interested in this type of hypnosis. Plus, he wouldn’t have to put any weird device into his body to lose the weight, he’d be doing it on his own technically. I appreciate hearing about this from you guys. You rock!

My friend was very obese and paid privately for a surgical gastric band. She was supposed to be in overnight. There were several complications and she almost died and was transferred to a public hospital where she remained for 13 wks! Yes she did reach her target weight more down to the fact she was fed by a drip for about the first 10 weeks and her muscles were wasting away too. After 2 years of maintaining her weight she has begun to gain weight again because she did not change her behaviours and would rather eat chocolate than something nutritious. I on the other hand had the hypnosis gastric band about 6 years ago and have kept the weight off and although I know I can eat what I want I don’t because I know I don’t have to. Whenever I think of the word DIET I think of the word DEPRIVATION. Gastric Band Hypnosis was the easiest, most cost effective thing I have ever done – and – it goes without saying – the safest! It truly changed my life and I have much more confidence now.

This is such a cool way to lose weight. I’d totally love to try this myself. I mean, I have some weight I’d like to lose, but I’m not too worried about it. My brother is heavy, so maybe I can have a talk with him about it.

I can see my father benefiting from this. He actually tried an actual lap band, or whatever they’re called, and he lost a lot of weight, but once out, he went back to his old habits. If I can get someone to hypnotize him into thinking he has one yet, then maybe he’ll continue to eat proper for the rest of his life.

I would love to lose weight myself. Even though I’m at a reasonable weight for my height, I still believe I could afford to lose some weight, but I’ve just become so lazy so maybe it’s time I give this a try.

I really wonder if this can actually work. Would be very cool to essentially have someone lose weight by leaving someone believe they have something inside of them that makes them healthy. This will be one of the best way of getting people to lose weight and live all together a healthier life.

My younger brother, who’s heavily obese is in need of as much help as he can get. Right now he’s close to 450lbs and it’s very depressing Maybe I can try to get him to give this a try. It’s the least I could do to help him. The family has tried just about everything.
